XTERRA WETSUIT POLICY
XTERRA follows the Swimming Conduct rules for Wetsuit and Speedsuit Use established by the International Triathlon Union (ITU) at all XTERRA World Tour Races.
Here are the specifics of the ITU Wetsuit Use Rules:
- Wetsuits are mandatory for Age Group athletes if the water temperature is BELOW 14 C (57 F)
- Wetsuits are permitted for Age Group athletes if the water temperature is AT or BELOW 22 C (72 F)
- Wetsuits are forbidden for Age Group athletes if the water temperature is ABOVE 22 C (72F)
- Wetsuits are mandatory for Professional athletes if the water temperature is BELOW 14 C (57 F)
- Wetsuits are permitted for Professional athletes if the water temperature is AT or BELOW 20 C (68 F)
- Wetsuits are forbidden for Professional athletes if the water temperature is ABOVE 20 C (68 F)
- Speedsuits and skin suits are permitted
- XTERRA World Championship: Wetsuits ARE NOT allowed for pro or amateur athletes racing in Maui. Speedsuits or skin suits ARE permitted. View list of permitted speedsuits
