Point Standings
Points will be accumulated equally at all National Championship events that comprise the XTERRA European Tour. Athletes compete in their age groups based on his/her XTERRA Age (age on 31 December 2014). In 2014 age group athletes will count their best 6 out of 12 finishes towards their total series points. Pros/Elites will count their best 6 out of 12 finishes towards their total series points.
It is not necessary to compete in any specific number of races to be considered the European Tour Champion. The athlete, either elite or age grouper, with the most points, counting a maximum of 6 for both Elite and age group will be the European Tour Champion. If an age group athlete competes in more than 6 events, they may drop their lowest finishes and count only their 6 best finishes. It benefits the athlete to compete in as many as possible to attain the highest points total. If a pro athlete competes in more than 6 events, they may drop their lowest finishes and count only their 6 best finishes. It benefits the athlete to compete in as many as possible to attain the highest points total.
