Batelier, Bucher the Best of Europe - win XTERRA Austria / European Championship & Euro Tour Titles

Franky Batelier and Renata Bucher are the best XTERRA athletes in Europe. As proof, the duo won the XTERRA European Championship race, which doubled as the XTERRA Austrian Championship, and the XTERRA European Tour titles as well on a picture perfect day in Klopeinersee (a beautiful lake village nestled in the Carinthian Alps) on Saturday.
Batelier, Bucher win XTERRA Germany Championship

Frenchman Franky Batelier edged local pro Felix Schumann by two minutes and Renata Bucher outran fellow countrywoman Sibylle Matter from Switzerland to win the XTERRA Germany Championship in Zittau on Saturday.
The event also served as the DTU German National Championship so although he finished as the runner-up in the overall, Schumann was crowned the German National Champ.

Franky Batelier, a 31-year-old military officer from Normandy, France, passed reigning XTERRA World Champ Ruben Ruzafa from Spain on the run to win the first XTERRA European Tour race of the season in the Cedrino Valley of Italy on Sunday. In the women’s race 3-time XTERRA European Tour Champ Renata Bucher edged fellow Swiss-star Sibylle Matter by just 20-seconds to win the women’s race.
The race also served as the European Triathlon Union (ETU) Cross Championship and as such, Batelier and Bucher earned those titles as well.
